I have had several pairs of Mudclaws over the years, but more recently switched to X-Talons which I found really good for racing and a bit more comfortable. But I needed a new pair of shoes for an upcoming event. It would have been easy to just go for the usual but in the process of browsing I came across the X-Claw 275. The name seemed to imply it had the best attributes of the X-Talon combined with the grip of the Mudclaw and that is pretty much what it is. 

They were instantly comfortable due to the POWERFLOW midsole and would be great for longer distances and trail runs but equally at home on steep ground giving confidence for those racing descents. The claw cleat sole was pretty good over rocky ground as well as superb over fast grassy terrain. The rand and tow bumper give good foot protection and the material feels durable. Time will tell. 

After wearing them a few times I now feel totally confident in them. I don’t have to worry about what I have on my feet as I know they will be good for anything I can throw at them.

Fell & trail running
