Ortovox F1 Focus analogue transceiver
This isn't the most recent transceiver design in the world, but it remains an old favourite for many, hence why we still stock it! The Ortovox F1 Focus is the most popular Avalanche Tranceiver ever built, in terms of numbers sold. The reliable analogue only beacon uses a three colored signal strength indicator in the shape of an arrow together with a loudspeaker to lead you quickly to the buried transceiver using the traditional grid search method. Ortovox F1 is the long time tested classic among avalanche beacons. As an analogue beacon it requires more practice than most of the digital beacons but it provides a great search range of up to 80m. Still, this is a solid design, and great for those who want a straight forward and reliable usi, without the bells and whistles!
